Acne

Seventy percent of the population has suffered from acne at one time or another. The symptoms are obviously an accumulation of spots on the face or back say it quickly and it doesn’t sound too bad but the reality can cause deep distress and anxiety, this in turn will perpetuate the condition. The cause scientifically is a change in hormones, a male one to be precise, androgen. This should be easy to fix with today’s technology, but it’s not so, because a pill will only work while you are taking it.

These are in the form of antibiotics or the pill dinette, which works, but it is much better to find the reason for the change in hormonal balance. There are other factors which add up to the skin becoming much worse, as soon as a spot arrives the first thing everyone tries is to dry the oil out of the skin, but what will actually happen is the oil will stay, leaving blackheads under a hard crust. The skin will lose all its water and with it the ability to fight the minor bacteria in the skin, then the skin becomes over sensitive and yet more spots appear.

Breaking the cycle can take a few days, the skin needs to be cleansed gently, then toned with something like Chamomile Desensitiser lotion and most importantly is to moisturise. The best moisturiser is Age Defiance Cream. Don’t let the name fool you, it works brilliantly, sometimes overnight. there is an ingredient in it that improves tissue repair for lines and also helps acne problems.

The young aren’t the only ones to suffer from acne, many women; especially older mums suffer from it after childbirth. The menopause is another dangerous time. So, if the acne doesn’t get you in your teens watch out. Again the reason is almost always poor hormonal balance, with high Androgen levels your diet will have an effect on these levels and coffee, tea and chocolate should be banned if you want your skin to heal because these send the adrenaline hormone level up raising the androgen.

Extreme stress can again cause poor skin. A quick sudden shock is not as bad for the skin as long term stress such as a marriage break up. I had acne on my face as a teenager and on my back when my marriage broke up and I find with my customers that their skin very often gets worse as the problem they are facing starts to be resolved. This is because other hormones which are used by the body to get rid of adrenaline such as cortisone only come in sort bursts when stress is really high because the body cannot sustain too much it can poison the system causing other problems.

Foods, which make acne worse, can vary from one person to an other and a blood test is the best solution but if you can’t afford one try doing a food diary, leaving out milk or wheat which can be major causes. Be careful when deleting foods from your daily eating plan and make sure you have all the vitamins.LIA Therapy is another treatment known to calm hormone levels and has helped cure acne in many cases.
